I am buying Christmas gifts for 2 african american girls, ages 7 and 8, who are from a struggling family. hey are "girly, girls" and like dolls, arts, etc. What are the cool gifts for a girl this age? Also, they need shoes. What is "in" for 7-8 year old girls?

You could get some "Make your own bracelet" kits.
For shoes I'd go with a cute pair of sneakers, just anything pink or purple and girly.

My seven year old niece is already into music and clothes and she likes Xbox video games that she can do sports or exercise with. For her last birthday, she got some iTunes gift cards and she used them to download songs to her iPod. I hope this helps some.
