What is the earliest age to start palying chess?

cpinatsi

To put it more precisely, I know each individual has different learning capabilities, what I am really asking is should I buy my god-children, age 5, a chess-board, or are they too young? They are particularly clever for their age (i mean they used to solve puzzles marked age 5+ when they were 3 y.o.), so is chess something they could start now, or would they find it too complicated and hate it?
I played normally at the age of 5, but I also read novels at that age and they don't, so that's why I am asking. sometimes I compare with me and I buy them gifts for older children.
(BTW I am not trying to sound smart, I am not a genius, but my brain developped rather fast, basically at the age of 4-5 I could play chess and puzzles etc. probably better than I can now!)

Answer
Basically the earlier kid starts to play chess the better, since young mind is more flexible and learns things faster. However, I believe that itâs mostly matters not when you start playing chess, but how much time and effort you dedicated to that game. If you start playing at 6 you may become a grandmaster by 16 with right training and talent. If you started at 30 maybe youâll be able to become a grandmaster by 40. Adults however have a lot less time to play chess since they have work, family, children and lots of problems they have to think about besides chess. That is also why players generally do not obtain the highest chess title if they start playing late.

Here is the list of when famous players have learned to play chess:

Alekhine learned at the age of 7 from his older brother. His mother also played chess and he learned chess from his relatives.
Anand learned the game of chess at age 6, taught by his mother.
Adolf Anderssen learned at the age of 9 from his father.
Blackburne was 19 years old before he learned chess. He learned the game from a chess book he had purchased.
Humphrey Bogart learned chess at 13 and was later a chess hustler.

Know any cool B-day party games for kids?

bn_skelly

My baby is turning 3 and we are having a small family party. We will have 8 kids here ranging from 3-8. Boys and girls and the party theme is dora. I have no Idea what kids of games to play for them.....help?!

Answer
A water balloon toss game: Fill up small water balloons, pair off kids and have them toss it back and forth. Every time they catch it, they take a step back to make the game harder. Last balloon standing wins a prize. You can do this with eggs too, but who wants to clean that up.

You can make your own pin the tail on the donkey, do a pinata, have a coloring contest, sack races, karaoke... so many fun things you can do with kids that age.

Who are Kid Rock's parents?

Irene L

I know he was born in Romeo, Mi.; but I have people telling me that he is the son of Hank Williams Jr. and I know that he is not. Also can anyone tell me who is Hank Williams Jr. son and is he a singer? Thank you! Irene

Answer
Kid Rock's real name is Robert James Ritchie .
Kid's father is Bill Ritchie, a retired car salesman

It was rumored that Hank Williams Jr. is his is father. Hank Williams Jr is one of his heroes, but not his father. The two have performed together and the rumor may have been prompted by a track from one of Hank Jr.s' albums on which Kid Rock plays electric guitar. Hank Jr. introduces him as his "rebel son."

Hank Williams Jr. is the father of five children: Shelton Hank Williams (Hank Williams III) , Hilary Williams , Holly Williams, Katharine Diane Williams, and Samuel Williams.

Hank Williams III tours regularly with his country band, The Damn Band and his metal band Assjack. He is also a member of Superjoint Ritual.

Answer
Kid Rock today
Kid Rock and Twisted Brown Trucker (see below) were to release a live DVD of their performance at the Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan on May 12/May 13, 2006 by the end of 2006, which never materialized.

A new studio album from Kid Rock is in the works and is set for release in September 2007,according to mtv.com.In an interview with Real Detroit Weekly in 2006, Rock said he is attempting to create "a timeless rock-n-roll record". Rock also said the record will be produced by Rick Rubin as well as Rob Cavallo, and will feature the J. Geils Band's Peter Wolf; the album has been rumored to have a tribute song to New Orleans from the outcome of Hurricane Katrina with Fats Domino on vocals as well as a guest spot from the Root's Questlove. Kid Rock stated to billboard.com that the album will be full of "bangers" and he will do a full-out media blitz (which he has never done). DJ Paradime confirmed a tracked called "Guilty" from the upcoming album.

Rappers Beanie Siegel[1], MURS[2], Trick Trick, and DMC have all expressed interest with working with Bob on their 2007 forthcoming albums.

Legendary rap pioneer Reverend Run has confirmed an album with Kid Rock called "Running With The Kid" a play off of Eric Clapton and BB King "Riding With The King".The release date is unknown but Run says they are going to work on it by the end of April 2007.

Why do you think kids and adults alike, quit playing chess?

Chasetophe

Please include any personal experiences, opinions, etc. which you have. Thanks so much.

Answer
Some people find other things they're interested in, and put chess aside... sometimes people who played it as kids quit for a few years and then get back into it as adults.

Chess is something you can't do well without thinking... a lot. Some people just decide they don't want to think any more than they have to. Playing chess to them is like adding a bunch of thinking to the thinking they already have to do just to get through a day.

Some people quit for a while when they can't find people to play against... playing online or against a computer isn't the same as playing someone sitting across the table from you.

Others reach a certain level of skill, and might quit because they think they know it all. Of course, no one EVER knows it all in chess. But they reach a plateau where the don't want to study any more to get better, and they get bored because they're not improving (because they don't study), and they quit.

Some people might even quit because their friends ridicule the game and they don't want to be made fun of (hopefully this doesn't happen too often).

Could be any number of reasons, or a combination of several.

I threw out over half her toys, now what?

Who am I?

For weeks I had been telling my DD to clean her closet. She's a stubborn girl and has a horrible habit of throwing everything (polly pockets, Pet Shop, Legos, bead kits... the whole 9 yards) in the bottom even though I have given her baskets and lidded boxes and shelves. So today I put everything in a bag and I'm tossing it. Of course she is mad and making excuses but I'm NOT backing out now. This is not the first time I've had to do this. She simply does not take care of her stuff.

Thing is, Christmas is coming. She and I both know this. I'm hesitant to buy a load of crap that is, in her eyes, simply replacing what was tossed and furthermore will more than likely suffer the same fate eventually. But I can't simply *not* get her anything because she still believes in the "big guy". I don't know what to do, I really don't. Any advice I'd truly appreciate on how to handle this situation.
She isn't spoiled with possessions by an y means. Kids have toys though and what she has she doesn't care for. When she HAS been taught and she HAS been given the resources and she HAS had punishments up until this point there is really no option but take the offending issue away. So before she does start re-accumulating I would like to ensure the same thing doesn't happen again. As for donating, this stuff hasn't been taken care of... the Polly dresses are torn, the legos scattered into only a handful. What started out as nice sets of toys has been reduced to rubbish.

Answer
if she still believes in santa, use that against her. remind her that santa only brings nice toys to boys and girls who are good and take care of what they have, so if she makes another mess then santa wont be bringing as nice of things for her if shes going to treat them like garbage. after saying that, of she remains clean and keeps her room tidy when you ask her too, get her the things you were originally planning on getting her. if she doesnt and she continues to break toys and acts carelessly about them, only get cheap simple things, not the things she really wants, get a bunch of clothes and books and maybe a few small toys and when she acts upset remind her that santa doesnt waste nice toys by giving them to kids who break their toys and dont take care of them.

I need help on pricing used toys for a yard sale?

Bubba

I have lots of Barbie stuff from dolls to clothes, cars and furniture all is still in great shape. I am de junking and we are having a yard sale. I am having a hard time pricing them. Any ideas? Also I have polly pockets (the old kind) and a ficher price doll house and people set. What would you pay for these idems? Any websites you know that could help price them? Thanks

Answer
The things you are selling are valuable to some people, but if your goal is to actually 'get rid' of everything, you have to price things much lower than the value you would get if you priced them for sale on eBay or Amazon. Top price should be $10 and work your way down from there. For instance the doll house should be $10 and the dolls should be $5 or less, depending in the condition. You would have to sell the clothes all together in a zip lock bag for $5. That's the way yard sales are, CHEAP....it's either that or keep everything.

How seaworthy is a duct tape boat?

dwin0094

I'm planning to do a duct tape boat, like the one Mythbusters did. There's a bay near our town, so I won't be going far off into open ocean. I want to ask, how seaworthy is a duct tape boat and how long will it last?

Answer
Not that long mate. It can only work on few weeks and eventually loose. I think its better if you will use other materials other than duct tape for that.

Does anyone have the specs to the myth busters duct tape boat?

Techtard

I was wondering what the framework was made out of. I have been aproaching his to the best of my abilities. The measurements I see are 4' depth, width 4 1/2', 3', to center, and 16 foot long. I would be putting the side bottom and the top bar 2' apart with increasing width as it goes up in height. My platform will sit about one to two foot off the bottom. I think I have solved the water problem I will do four layers of tape with masking tape on the outside vynal painting over that for final waterproofing. If someone could tell what else I need to know I would be greatful.
Ok ok if someone told me a good tarp frame for one small tarp fine. I know from experience that as long as you aren't putting 60 psi of water on two layers of tape it is fine. Lucky for me I will be putting 4 or more layers. So don't be a prick.

Answer
Karle is right... What you are doing is a waste of time... not to mention duct tape.

Truth is, there are boaters with boat building experience here that could tell you how to build a "real" boat that size, that would not only look professional, it would be easier, faster, and virtually last forever - and it would cost you a day's labor and less then $75.

So, Karle is not the prick here... You are the one that ask for advice. Karle simply gave you the truth, and then you responded like a 10th grader on kindergarten steroids.
Ever stop to think why some 16 year olds are sailing around the world alone... and you're sitting at home trying to figure out how to make a boat out of duct tape?
You need to do some serious soul searching and fast growing up...

Good luck!
John
PS. My fatherly advice is free... you can thank me later. I'm just trying to improve your chances of success.

which are the best jigsaw puzzles and toys for 5 year olds?

bebu2025

Can any parent recommend some time tested puzzle that their kids have used and enjoyed and are suitable for 5 year old? also can anyone recommend good educational toys for kindergärtner or 5 yr old girl? I know there are plenty of websites but its so confusing and i have a common problem as many, my child looses interest very soon, so a good recommendation will help.
thanks.

Answer
Go to a thrift store and get toys there as they won't cost much and you can donate them back when your child is finished with them. You will often find great quality toys there. Take your child along and let him pick some that she likes. Kids of that age love to paiint and make playdough. You will find recipes online and you can make them with your daughter. I have not found that five year old kids like puzzles that much, but again, take your child to the store with you and let her pick something she likes. Don't forget books and board games.

How do you organize your child's toys?

Charis

I have a 2 year old girl and our living room is covered in toys! LOL I have a shelving unit with those fabric bins in the cubbies that I store some toys in. Other than that her puzzles, stuffed animals, Little people etc have no place but the living room floor! Also I find she really doesnt go into the bins that often to look for toys so they just sit in there. How do I organize her toys so she can see where they are and so theres a more neat appearance to my house?

Answer
Toy box & shelves in the kids rooms.

We keep NO toys (except for 2 kids chairs) in the living room. They are all in his room.

best place to buy cheap bird toys online?

toys for severe macaw that are sheaper than petsmart and petco?

Answer
Seriously, I recommend making your own toys. If you think you don't have time to make a really great bird toy, you are sadly mistaken. Not you, anyone who thinks that for a second, I mean. With four parrots, different sizes, I go through a lot of toys. Every day I have to find something for my macaw to destroy. I watched him tear up a forty dollar toy in three hours. He was SOOOO happy! But there is no way I can afford toys at that rate. You can get all kinds of really great toy ideas from the internet. Just google "making parrot toys". Most of my best toys come from the recycle bin. You can use any cardboard that food comes in, plastic lids, plastic bottles with a wooden bead in it, straws,.... The list is endless. I drill a hole in just about anythign and string it onto a ring and hang the ring in the bird cage. I bought a spool of cotton rope and string beads and make knots and string bottle caps on it and hang it in the cage, nearly every morning. He always looks forward to whatever I give him. Sometimes I hide nuts in the toy, wrapped in tissue paper or just a foot toy for them to unwrap. Each bird likes something different it seems and since i am making the toys, I can adapt them easily to what is needed by each bird. Since I made them, if the toys drop to the floor and get soiled, I can just throw them away. Depending on the size of your bird, baby toys make great parrot toys. The bright C rings are great things to hang toys with also. My homemade bird toys (I call them ghetto toys, they are often so ugly) may not look so pretty as the store bought ones, but when the toy you spent forty dollars on is in splinters at the bottom of the cage, it looks pretty mucht he same as my ghetto toys. I also use plastic measuring spoons and just about anything I think will interest them for a few minutes. You can also drill holes in coconut shells and scraps of wood you get feromt he bin at Home Depot (you have to be careful what kindof wood you use, pine is best I think) Pheonix Landing is a GREAT site to get free ideas and if you can go to one of their seminars, GO. Natalia Fo

i want to buy some toys for my nephews , but i havent found anything on toys r us, amazon, or ebay for a good price.
any help advice.

Answer
I just started an online toy company myself. I am a small, family owned business. We actually just launched in the last week :) My toys start under $10, and my parcel shipping is pretty good! I'm really not trying to "sell" myself............I wish my toys were cheaper but I don't have dollar store toys and they should last! If you don't mind a small town American Company selling you toys, I would really appreciate your business. Thank You!

settlement money.?

8/23 I lov

i was just wondering if i can go on a website to check my policy on my settlement. I have gotten lead poison when i was younger and just started to collect my payments last year, i tried calling since the bank isnt around here its an a completely different state and they said they can not tell me that information about how much money i am going to be collecting. Is there a site i can go on i know the insurance or the bank is Liberty Mutrual .. Can some one please help me. i know i collect money last august and i am collecting more this august and than its starts monthly instead of yearly,

serious answers please. Thanks.

[i am from NJ and i think my settlement comes from Dover, or maryland. ]

Answer
Do you know if the defendant had a personal lines policy or a ommercial policy? I will assume that latter since this claim likely involves a landlord. You can try calling Liberty Mutual in Weston, MA, 1 800-762-5026. They might be able to help you out. They handle Commercial Claims in that office.

Who did you try calling? Liberty Mutual? It sounds as if your claim was settled as a structured settlement. Liberty uses Galaher Settlements, but no guarantee that the annuity was through them. Call 800 843-6107. Somebody there may be able to help you. There is a Galaher Settlements in Dover, NH.

The easiest thing to do is track down the attorney that handled the claim or speak with your parents. They SHOULD have kept the paperwork.

What is the lower priced, low fat, dog food for a dog that has had pancreatitis?

syrious

Answer
Veterinarians often recommended prescription diets, either for a specific time period or for the rest of the dog's life. Some prescription diets available are: Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Digestive Low Fat LF 20 dry or canned, a diet that is restricted in fat and formulated to aid in the management of pancreatitis. Another prescription diet is Hill's Prescription Diet Canine i/d or Prescription Diet Canine w/d, foods that contain highly digestible nutrients and are low in fat. Eukanuba Reduced Fat is another food suggested at animal clinics.

ommercial Dog Food
# Low-fat dog food.

Low-fat dog food.
You can buy high-quality, low-fat commercial foods that contain excellent, often organic ingredients without a prescription. They have limited ingredients and are recommended for dogs recovering from pancreatitis, overweight dogs and dogs with other gastrointestinal problems.

Some of these foods are: Wellness Core Reduced Fat (RF), a grain-free food; Canidae Platinum; Avoderm Chicken & Rice; Eagle Pack Holistic Fish Formula; Innova Lower Fat Adult Canned Food; California Natural Low Fat Rice & Lamb Meal Adult Kibble; Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Fish Dry; or Canned and Natural Balance Reduced Fat (contains rice). Kibble should be soaked in warm water or non-fat, low-salt broth, and you should serve all foods at room or body temperature.
Homemade Diets
# Start with rice

Start with rice
Simple and bland meals such as boiled chicken with rice or potato, non-fat cottage cheese, chicken or turkey organic baby food are good choices for homemade dog meals. An easy diet to start with is overcooked white rice made with extra water, combined with a low-fat protein source, such as cooked skinless chicken breast, low-fat cottage cheese or boiled hamburger (boiling removes most of the fat).

According to dog nutritionists, a canine pancreatitis diet may include skinless white meat chicken, lean and low-fat ground beef, beef heart, beef kidney, beef liver, egg whites, non-fat plain yogurt, oatmeal, barley and non-fat cottage cheese. Cooked vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, dark leafy greens, winter squash and sweet potatoes can also be considered, as these foods contain low amounts of phosphorus and fat. Overcooking starchy foods such as rice or potatoes increases their digestibility.

Dogs fed a very low-fat diet may become deficient in vitamins A and E, so adding salmon oil or coconut oil to the diet will help. Salmon oil has proven to be beneficial in treating acute pancreatitis and should always be given in combination with vitamin E.

Whatever you feed, start with small amounts fed frequently, six to eight meals a day or more. Small meals stimulate the pancreas less and are less likely to trigger vomiting. If you are unable to cook for your dog, try to feed small portions throughout the day of all-natural, high-quality dog food or alternate between these dog foods and home-cooked meals.

8 Week Old & 6 Month Old Boys?

Q. Two of my family members had children. I was going to send gifts , but I'm not sure what I should give a 8 week old or a 6 month old boy for a present. Any ideas?

Answer
For eight weeks and six month of children give some bright colored plastic toys that are okay to bite a little bit. Children of that age will put anything in their mouth. Bright colors are good for intellectual growth of children of that stage. Chewable rubber like material may be better than plastic. Ask people in a toy store near you for a better pick. Bright colored plastic balls can be a good idea for boys. Or you can buy a small car or small truck for their little more older time. If you are not looking for a toy by a piece of dress that they can wear for at least six months.

what would you buy a boy who will be 5-6 months old for xmas?

Bogan Mum

Answer
not very much as he won't have a clue what's going on. my son was 6 months at xmas and a few things he got were clothes (always good), books (he loves them!), toys to attach to his buggy, more age appropriate toys... we got him a star toy that he still loves (14 months) and plays with daily, a buggy toy and some clothes. this year we're not going overboard either as we have to get on a ryan air plane in order to get home and extra weight just isn't affordable with ryan air (£16 per bag... and then £8 just to check it in)

what does dreaming about toys from a claw machine mean?

shockHORRO

i had a dream about being at an arcade with an old friend that i no longer speak to, and she was really good at the claw machine (that looked like a carasel) and we eventually got all the toys. and i remember picking up this small black bear and putting it in my pocket before this woman who probably worked there asked us to leave.

i usually forget my dreams but it's been 2 days and i still remember it.
what could it mean?

Answer
That you recently watch "A Toy Story" or walked by a similar machine at the grocery store.

I still vividly remember a dream from childhood -- I was riding on a carousel and the animals came to life and became my pets -- still has not happened yet.

Kitten wont stop biting or clawing HELP!?

Zel Tokumo

I have had this kitten several months now, I have tried everything the vet and the pet stores have suggested doing.
I have given him more toys
I have given him more attention
I have tried a spray bottle
I have tried clipping his nails
I have tried the anti clawing and biting spray
NOTHING IS WORKING! he has seriously hurt me on several occasions, he has drawn blood and scratched me so bad I have had to get stitches, Today he bit a hole through my lip and I honestly don't know what to do, I know if I take him to a shelter he will be put down for being so aggressive, is there anything anyone can suggest I am at my whits end, I don't believe in declawing or filing down cats teeth i think its barbaric.
I said I was AGAINST declawing.... and please understand I cant just "deal" he is physically harming me, causing me to get stitches and severe cuts and bites.... he is 7 months old.

Answer
I applaud your decision to not de-claw. Even while you're in pain, very nice.

I have four cats. My newest female kitten liked to playfully bite or chew and sometimes grab with her claws on tender skin -- this lasted for a couple months. I was getting concerned, we don't bite or claw in this cat family. I quickly told her (though not sure how much she understood) that this was unacceptable, none of the other cats do this. I tried a tactic that a dog trainer showed me a few years ago for my puppy, asserting your dominance. Your companions must know that you are the Alpha. Not the Master, that title holds no respect. But the Alpha.
Every animal family has an Alpha and to become the Alpha, you must set an example of dominance. For large dogs I was told to (if safe, not an aggressive animal) have the animal (I used this on the kitten) lay flat on the ground, not painfully, just holding her steady so she couldn't stand up, and lay on top of them. Obviously, this is a kitten and you should not put any pressure or weight on her. But lay your body against and on top of her own, maybe holding paws so you don't get hurt. Do this very gently, don't apply a lot of pressure at all, you're getting a point across not harming. Stay there for a few seconds at a time. When she gets feisty and starts grabbing with her claws while you hold her, immediately and gently lay her down, hold her paws for your protection, and be the top dog. You may choose to gently (always gentle, trust is important) scruff her neck like her mother would do if she were to misbehave in her litter.
My kitten would still want to get rough and tag me with her nails, and every time she did, successful or not, I grabbed both paws and held them, spoke softly and petted her gently. She learned quickly that this behavior wasn't acceptable and she wouldn't gain anything by it. Not my blood, my anger, nor my fear. Eventually she stopped. Now this is a kitten I can piss off repeatedly and at most she will gently, with claws retracted bat at me.
The key is if they love, trust and respect you - they wouldn't want to harm you. Some animals play rough, but just the same way, calm them down, hold them and show them that you're the boss. If you can't or aren't willing to risk your body by laying (gently) on her, grab up those paws and just hold her so she can't get loose, never hurting though. I always told mine, "gentle paws, gentle paws" and now she's fine.
It takes time. And patience. And love and kindness and a lot of trust. Always remember, your cat is an eighth your size, and that can be scary and intimidating. Shouting can be scary as well as spanking, that can be traumatizing and lead your cat to never trust you again. Just show him patience and kindness.
Maybe sit in a room with him and make him focus attention on you, just repeatedly bring him down a notch so he can't harm you. if this is an out of control biting and clawing cat, measures may be a little more drastic. Try socks, slip little socks onto those paws while you interact. This could either help you or just annoy your cat.
He could be acting this way for any number of reasons. Maybe he's scared of you and feels that he must defend himself, or just unsure of people in general. His heart can still be won. Just remember how hard it is for you to communicate to him what you want, it's that hard or harder for him to tell you what HE wants. Also, nail clipping can be unpleasant for both parties involved. You should just get a scratching post or emory board or something similar for him to scratch, it's his natural instinct to scratch and clipping nails doesn't actually do very much, they actually lose the entire nail periodically as new ones grow in and clipping probably doesn't make his scratches hurt any less but I can promise you it probably scares the hell out of him.
Just always keep your patience and your kindness. This is an animal with free will, ruled by no one. Should he grow to love you it could be a beautiful thing.
i've had dogs and cats, but no dog was as loyal as my felines.

How do you teach your kid to pedal riding toys?

eaglewanna

We have bought our four year old son a toddler bike with training wheels but he refuses to pedal and only makes a half-heared attempt at it.

Answer
The wheels on most bikes turn when the wheels move. Just put his feet on the pedals and then push him around. He probably doesn't like having to work it himself. But if he sees how fun it can be, he'll probably get motivated and want you to stop pushing him so he can do it himself. Try it on the driveway where it's easier to pedal.

what ride on toys can be ridden on street.?

Bill S

My boys have always had the ride on toys that go 5 MPH.. Last year we purchased a Razor Electric 4 wheeler that goes 8MPH or so... Never had a complaint about riding it in the culdesac, but now Im looking at buying a gas 4 wheeler, but it too can be limited to the 8 MPH range,, does anyone know the legal issues of the kids ride on toys?

Answer
Hi there. I am an adult scooter enthusiast. I've built/re-built many. Currently, I have a 6+HP stand up scooter, an Electric stand-up, and a weird little thing called a runt bike with a 4hp engine.

You really have to check your state's dmv code. You can usually do this online. A ssearchwithin the site of "moped" often brings-up the type of information you need.

That said-- usually, if it has a seat, it can't be ridden on the street. This is because most municipalities do not want ATVs, snowmobiles, and dirt bikes causing havoc, and the llittletoys fall into that classification.

That said, most of the time, a below 49cc engine with a top speed below 30mph is legal for stand-up toys.

The gas engine models attract more attention, because of the noise. I've never had a problem in my state. I have been "pulled-over" a few times, but it was all good in the end. Once, i was told to get a headlight. Another time, the officer suggested I do something about the noise. My fastest model cruises far above the legal limit, so I'm just careful about how/where I ride it.

Again, check with your state's dmv.

WHY are sex toys SO MUCH CHEAPER on Amazon??

Pearl of t

Why are sex toys so much cheaper online through Amazon? It almost seems too good to be true?? A lot of things I say were a fraction of their price at Adult Video Megaplex or Adam and Eve? For example, the California Exotics Jack Rabbit Vibrator is $100 at the store, but about $27 online through Amazon? That's amazing! But what's the catch? Seriously, does anyone know??

http://www.amazon.com/California-Exotics-Waterproof-Rabbit-Floating/dp/B001GCVKU0/ref=zg_bs_3777811_5

Answer
to be honest.
a lot of the stock they get is from china, and all made from materials we are not 100% sure about, of course its cheap. and also a lot of replicas too
putting things into your body..i would be very cautious and never pay too cheap for an item.
when it comes to makeup, skin, body etc..never pay for a shortcut..we should look after ourselves.
i would never buy off amazon anyways.
my friend owns an online shop
feel free to take a sneak peak..top quality stuff

Ride on toy for my 2 year old, any suggestions?

MiMi

I need a durable, sturdy, not cheaply made ride on toy for my 2 year old. She is turning two in a few weeks. I have read tons of reviews and would like to hear some more.

Answer
they have 2 wheelers for toddlers. One brand is Skuut. It is good for blanace and teaches them to ride a 2 wheeler much faster.

The tricycles that come with a handle are good also, Radio Flyer is a good brand.

They do still make big wheels!

What is Charlie st cloud about?

Abby

Ok so I just watched this movie and I don't get it 1 bit can someone please help me I'm confused is Charlie dead or something!!

Answer
Charlie St. Cloud (Zac Efron) is a sailor who wins a professional boating race on his sailboat, the "Splendid Splinter", along with his younger brother Sam (Charlie Tahan and Chris Massoglia). He subsequently receives a sailing scholarship to Stanford University. Charlie graduates from high school and after getting home from his graduation ceremony, Charlie promises Sam that they will practice baseball together every day until he leaves for Stanford; at sunset when the Boston Yacht Club's ceremonial cannons sound. Later that night, Charlie was supposed to go to a graduation party with his friends, but his mother Claire (Kim Basinger) makes him babysit Sam while she picks up another shift at her job as a nurse. When Sam is watching television, Charlie tries to sneak out and go to the party. But he is caught by Sam when he turns his headlights on, and Sam asks Charlie to drive him to his friend Tommy's house. At first Charlie refuses, but gives in when Sam makes compliments about his car. While driving, Charlie and Sam talk about Charlie's departure and horseplay until they get into a bad car accident at a traffic signal. Their car is rear ended by a pickup truck, forcing them into the path of a Mack truck in a T-bone collision. Sam and Charlie cling to each other as Sam asks Charlie to never leave him alone again, saying that if he does, they will always be together as brothers. Charlie promises they will always be together. Then a paramedic named Florio Ferrente (Ray Liotta) revives Charlie and he sobs in horror to realize that Sam has succumbed to his wounds and died in his arms. At Sam's funeral, a broken-hearted Charlie runs off after refusing to put Sam's baseball glove in the grave. After a heartbroken run through the neighboring woods, Charlie finds Sam's spirit and discovers that Sam can interact with him on the physical plane. After their reunion, Charlie fulfills Sam's dying wish by practicing baseball with him every day at sunset, in the canyon, after the sounding of the cannons.

Five years later, Charlie, who gave up his scholarship and mournful over Sam's loss, is now caretaker at Waterside Cemetery. During a trip into town, Charlie visits the boat docks and meets Tess Carroll (Amanda Crew), a sailor who dreams of one day sailing around the world. The following day, Charlie runs into Florio Ferrente, the paramedic who saved his life. Ferrente is dying of cancer and questions Charlie if he ever wonders why he was saved and tells him there is a reason for his gift. Charlie returns to the cemetery and finds Tess injured. He takes her back to his home to patch her up and they develop a relationship. Meanwhile, Sam begins to feel that Charlie is forgetting him when Charlie arrives late for their game of catch. However, Tess follows Charlie and he explains to her that the more he is in her world, the less he can be in Sam's.

Later, Charlie discovers that Tess had gone missing while sailing through a storm a few days earlier, revealing that Charlie could see her just like he could Sam. Ferrente's wife Carla comes to Charlie and tells him that Ferrente had died the previous night and to give him his St. Jude medal that he wore the night Charlie was revived. Charlie examines the pendant and finds a piece of paper with the words "find me" written on it and remembers Tess saying that to him. It is then that Charlie realizes that Tess is not dead and that he has to find her to save her life. Along with his friend Alistair and Tess's coach, Charlie takes a boat to find Tess based on Charlie's instincts that he knows where she is. The following sunset, Charlie finally misses his game with Sam. As Charlie apologizes, Sam simply tells Charlie that he loves him and takes off as a shooting star to point out Tess' location. The group finds Tess' wrecked boat along with her lying on the rocks. Charlie uses his body heat to keep themselves warm until they are eventually found by a Coast Guard Jayhawk.

Charlie and Tess are taken to the hospital where Alistair tells Charlie that Tess had hypothermia and that he saved her. Later, Charlie purchases an old boat and asks Tess if she would like to take a ride with him. However, Tess fears him explaining that she had been having vivid dreams about them together. Charlie tells Tess that her dreams are memories and recites a quote from her dad's funeral that they had spoken about in her dreams. Charlie decides to resign from his job and goes into the forest to reminisce and say farewell to an older Sam (Chris Massoglia in an unreleased alternate ending), telling him they'll always be brothers, before leaving the forest with Tess. During the credits, Charlie and Tess finally sail around the world and say goodbye to the citizens in their town.

electronics......?

question:

Electives such as electronics, automative and horticulture should be equally accessible to male and female students. However, it is noticable that large numbers of girls have less interest in these subjects. girls are narrowing gender gap in science and math, but not in technology.

we are required to adress the genderissue in technology education.you need to discuss the following:

1)what evidence is there that a technology gender gap and gender bias exist?

2) why are girls in there adolescent years losing interest in technology?

3)what are the differnce and similarities between how males and females perceive and use technology?

4)what technologies are out there?for whom are they intended?

5)is engineering and technology a subject for both genders?

6)what roles to parents, educators, and manufactures have in encouraging technology use along females?

Answer
1. look at what toys kids are brought up with.. boys, radio control cars, transformers, Lego's.../ girls, dolls, tea party's, stuffed animals...
2. they mostly have mp3 players and that's about it boys will play computer games and want to take stuff apart put it back together...
3. girls like technology to be there and it works, boys want technology and want to know how it works...
4. technology is out there for everyone... but it is up to the person in what and how it is used
5. yes there are boys who would want nothing to do with it because they just can't hack it or don't want to, girls are just as capable as boys just they have there interests else where... interior design, cosmetology, home economics
6. Goes back to #1... and what is socially acceptable
*my answer may seen bias towards boy being more into technology but it is just what I see from the outside looking in

What's the hottest kids toy for this christmas??

The Good G

I need to know. =]
All answers greatly appreciated!

Answer
webkinz, wii, nintendo ds, cameras, cell phones, i-dog,fur real biscut, elmo those are the famous ones, all kids care about these days are electronics. But here are a list of really cool things you can get your kid if you have one.

Girl:
nail polish, lotion, sims 2 (rated teen though so maybe not the best idea), a bean bag, chair, if she is into disney get her a membership to toontown, or some cds like Hannah Montana, High School musical, Demi Lavato, let her pick out ten songs for i-tunes and burn them on a cd or do it the ileagle way and go on lime wire, if she is a big reader get her a twilight books (for big readers though and 3rd and 4th book have a teeny bit of inapropriate stuff) mostly for teens and romantic so maybe not the best idea. Oh and sorry, i know you only asked for the hottest toys. I gave you a xmas list. I am just guessing you have a daughter.

This might helppp:

Answer
You could do Katniss, you have the right hair and face shape. However, personally, I think you would do best Belle. It is simple, cheap, easy, and you have perfect hair for it.

These are some places you can get Bella costumes at a reasonable price. I also suggest contacts so you look more like her. As well as some other great Disney and Hunger Game costumes. You would make a good Snow White too, so I tossed those in as well.

How can I get two toddler boys to share toys and play better together?

mommy06880

I currently babysit for a friend who has a two year old boy who is very laid back and calm. My son on the other hand (20 months) is super active and a little crazy. They both play pretty well together however, I am constantly having to stop the figthting over toys as soon as one picks it up the other wants it. I know I can not fully break them of this, they after all are toddlers but what can I do to help?

Answer
There are some age appropriate toys that have multiple sets of things, which they can both play with at the same time. Or a project that they both contribute to assembling...something big enough that they can work on it without getting in each other's space. May I suggest Place & Trace by Discovery Toys...a set of three separate puzzles geared to their age. Give each boy one puzzle with its 4 pieces. They can complete the puzzle, use it to cut out Play Doh, or even cut out cookie dough and bake cookies in fun dinosaur shapes or transportation or house pet (each puzzle has a different theme). Often, an open-ended toy will be played with in different ways by different kids. That's what you need to look for.

Need an age appropriate toy for 2 boy toddlers?

I saw a big box of GI Joes at the dollar store but then I was thinking about the small parts and I wouldn't want my lil cousins to choke or get stabbed in the eye. So what would be some age appropriate toys?

Answer
I think that a good game to play with for a toddler is with puppets. I thought that these were hard to use but my husband recently bought some online and they were very easy to use and play with. My son he loved these puppets so much. My son convinced my husband to buy him a puppet theater and made a play for the whole family he has gotten very good with the puppets he and his friend are going to make a play next week in school too. I think it has been one of the best toys we have ever gotten my son. I leave you a link where my husband found the puppets they have a whole lot of them.

Answer
I don't if you could get a grant to start the business, that's something you'd have to research in your area.
But I do know this: You'll make money if the business opens. I have never seen an Adult or XXX store that didn't.

Good Luck!!! If I'm ever in Northumberland, I'll look you up.

What gadgets do you think will be most popular in 2013?

mchl_the_c

I am researching new market trends that are likely to produce more gadgets in 2013. Efficiency, especially in terms of how we run our daily lives, is essential here. I have looked at websites such as Kickstart.com and have gotten a few good ideas, but would like any more suggestions. This is NOT a homework assignment. I am looking for investmentts.

Answer
You will find things you never new existed in this list. If you are like me, you will also find yourself wishing you were a kid, just so YOU could get some of these hot toys. I know they didn't have cool toys like this when "I" was a boy.Technology is something that kids understand a lot better than us old folks. Many of these toys and gadgets are technology based (although not all of them). Kids understand them and love them.

Christmas-related things to do in 2013 near Tampa Bay (Florida) area?

Kim

What are some Christmas-related things to do in 2013 near Tampa Bay (Florida) area? Specifically, things my 4 year old daughter would enjoy. The more suggestions the better!

Answer
I find, the greatest thing to do as a family is giving back to your community together. When my daughter was 4, we started the tradition of doing two Operation Christmas Child boxes together. We go to our local dollar store and pick out needed items for children in 3rd world countries for Christmas. Here is the website: http://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/

Lots of local churches and organizations are also looking for Christmas present donations for local children. Why not go to a store like Wal-Mart and have her pick out a couple toys for kids who don't have any? Google: Tampa Bay Toys for Tot (Great organization for donating toys, I believe it is a Facebook page)

You can also donate to a food bank. Same idea, go to a store, involve the child.

Starting young puts a good message of the meaning of Christmas and my kids find it very fun!

You can decorate at home, decorate handmade ornaments, set up the tree, sing Christmas carols, watch a Christmas movie, try to go ice skating (hard with a 4 year old).
