What is the best toy I can buy for a Christmas present?

M2S

I am donating some toys to a Christmas raffle this year, and can buy any toys for any aged child. I would like to buy a variety of toys, and am thinking of spending a total of about $200. I am looking for some great ideas - what toys does your child really love (or want) this year?

I am sorta in the dark when it comes to what exactly I need to be doing to help better my soon to be 4 year olds learning skills... such as numbers, letters, ect.
What kind of activities should I do?
What should I be focusing on?
What materials.... like workbooks, toys, ect. will help?
What games?
Just some advice...
Give me specifics! What did/ are you using w/ your toddler!
Thanks in advance...

Answer
Baby Einstein flash cards are great...or other type of flash cards- as long as your child enjoys them
Do whatever interests your child!
Read to them alot!
Leap frog or Vtech products are great.
Learning through play is the best for young children!
I would stear clear of any workbooks
Don't worry, your child will learn everything in kindergarten, so there's no reason to teach everything now- he'll be bored in school.

One activity my son loves is we write with chalk outside(letters, numbers, shapes) and then I ask him where a particular letter or number or shape is and he'll go stand on it. He just turned 3!!! He really loved flash cards, that's how he learned all his letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Praise every little thing he learns, and he'll want to hear more and more from you. Good luck!!!
