Answer
Quite simple idea & a good one at that~ especially for budgies. All you will need is some pure cotton rope (or you can use a sisal), small beads variety to thread(can be found at any craft store, or Michaels) & either popsicle sticks or if you are handy, you can use 1X2 pine wood, the coloring is simply food coloring & safe for your budgie.( I choose not to use coloring on any of my avian toys because my birds are all white, when the coloring gets wet, it stains alot of things) And the little bell should be ONLY stainless if you would like it to last & be safe for your bird(stay away from ZINC & lead) Also the tiny piece of metal in the bell should be removed & you can leave without or use a bead instead it will ring just the same( the tiny metals are junk, but also dangerous to many birds, if swallowed etc). This idea is quite easy IF you view the picture closely...Simply thread the beads on the cotton or sisal which will be multiple strands which come fom one area atop which is knotted with probably a stainless(or nickel) ring needed for hanging. Just knot the strands where beads stop/end...the cotton or sisal rope is thread thru a small hole of each wood slat carefully, then knot rope again & continue threading beads till rope length is full, then knot the ends leaving a very short tassle fray...always watch that toys do not become a danger to birds...always check for loose metals or frayed ropes/materials that a bird can get the talons caught in or wing, & such. Always view birds as if a young baby or toddler, doing so will keep them safe~
Have fun making little things for your feathered one~ Takecare~
Online there are many bird sites that offer toy making ideas...Wonderful neat things with everyday household items & baby toys, buliding blocks, leggo's ect.. pure pine wood or pvc are good items always, bird tend to chew~
Take care~
