Anyone have ideas/suggestions as to how I can decorate my toddler's bedroom to mimic a preschool? Or where I can find this type of decor? I'd like to be teaching him at home before he starts his little preschool in a few months..such as teaching him the ABC's, numbers, colors, shapes, etc. TIA =]
Answer
Find preschool things, basic toys, and accessories in basic colors. Keep the focus on primary colors (red, yellow, blue), simple shapes, clean lines etc.
You can get a white board that is usually used for offices and put that up. Another idea could be to get a toddler-sized table and chair set. You could also put up the alphabet around the room and numbers as well.
I really like your idea, but do you want your little boy to sleep in a preschool? Would you want to sleep in a school? Remember, while decorating and teaching him, that the room still is his bedroom, not a class room. It should be a place where he can learn, but also a place where he can play as he wishes, and not be overwhelmed by feeling like he's sleeping "at preschool".

I have a question about your toddler.?
Sara
I have a 2 year old boy and he takes a toy truck that he has and he throws it. But somethings the things he does is girlish. My husband was afraid that he could be gay. The way he acts sometimes he acts like he is gay. Can you tell me how your toddler acts.
For example, if a girl....does she act like a girl like being gentle with her toys. If a boy, are they rough with their things.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated...thanks.
Answer
all toddlers are active and explore things in their world. they don't even know what "gay" is to make a choice to be that. It's not uncommon at toddler and into preschool age for little boys to pick up a doll or girls to play with trucks and cars. It doesn't mean they are going to be gay or a lesbian.
Chances are once they start preschool they will figure out that there are differences in girl toys and boy toys and will gravitate to their gender more easily.
My son is 1 1/2 and he plays with trucks and cars, throwing or rolling balls and blocks and the like. He also carries around his teddy bear and stuffed animals like a tiger, elephant or monkey. He plays on swings or with ride on's and can be active outside and just as content to be cuddly on a lap inside looking at a book or watching a movie on family night. I guess I would say what he does is normal for his age. He plays rough, but he doesn't like to be "too rough" where he gets hurt or something is scary to him, but he'll play in the sand or the mud with the best of them. :)
I wouldn't worry.
Now, if he's six and trying to dress up in a tu-tu and go off to ballet class, then yes, I'd say you have something to worry about, but for now, he's just exploring his world and doesn't really understand about gender differences or that some things are more "girlish" than others.
