Guitar Hero Introducing Rock To Kids?
Q. i am now 11 [i know im to young so dont go all wild] and my dad always liked bon jovi, metallica,RATT,and Ozzy Osbourne and showed me but i never cared and i was listining to rap but when the game came out my friend brought it over a couple years ago when GH2 came out and i played it and then i became addicted to the game and the music
things i have done since playing the game
-----------------------------------------------------------
quit listing to rap
listined to heavy metal
became huge ozzy osbourne fan
became a ultra mega metallica fan [which i still am]
started guitar on a knock off version of straocaster
got a new epiphone les paul
and yes i still play guitar hero
which i now play guitar hero world tour
and after i started listining to this music my dad showed me bands
so the question is do u think guitar hero helps kids start listining to rock
dude im already playing them songs on guitar
but i just do Guitar Hero for fun when im bored
lol that is funny because i layed guitar hero and then got my first guitar and said this will be easy and the first song i tried to learn was smoke on the watyer and it sounded horrible and i said "it alot harder than guitar hero"
my favorite band is metallica
and these my fave songs by them
master of puppets
one
fade to black
and justice for all
battery
welcome home
Fuel
four horseman
for whom the bell tolls
and so many more
things i have done since playing the game

Guitar Hero definitely does get younger kids into rock, but there's still a problem with it. That problem is that they don't have enough variety when it comes to genre. I mean, it's mostly overrated rock or metal acts like Guns N' Roses. And, come on--Danny Gatton, Wes Montgomery, Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, Brent Mason, Brad Paisley and Albert Lee all are or were better guitarists than any guitarists I've heard on Guitar Hero games.
Honestly, I think Guitar Hero games should try and turn younger kids onto multiple genres such as country, jazz and bluegrass--not just rock!
If you don't think country guitar is awesome, check out Brad Paisley--he'll change your mind!
