I have almost the whole Sims 2 collection and now they come out with Sims 3. I want to know from people who played both, which game is better? I don't own the Sims 3 nor have I ever played it.
Answer
I got the sims 3 a couple of weeks after it came out- I thought there was too much hype on it. I had the sims 2 and i loved it.
The main difference with Sims 3 is that you can do more, like there is so much more detail. One of the greatest things about it is the loading time- there is none. When you wanna visit someone's house, you just walk across the street and knock on the door. It's so easy to make friends that way.
Another thing is that there is always something happening in Sims 3, the whole town grows old with your sim, you will make friends with someone, and when you get older so will they. That is especially good for when you are friends, as you can be friends with someone from when you are born, till when they die. And then you mourn their death. And you can take pics of you together at different stages of yours and their life.
You have a proper mobile phone on the sims 3, you can take pics with is and put them on your wall; this is good for when babies are born, taking a picture of them growing up. And its not like you take a picture of the whole scene in Sims 2, you can focus on one little thing, and zoom in on it :)
The expansion pack, Sims 3 World Adventures is really quite good, yeah people have had some problems with it, like I have, but once they get sorted, its really great! You can visit different countries and have people visit you and marry them and have kids with them and stuff! You get to learn songs from other countries and there are missions in each new place with tombs and nectar making , that sorta thing , and the whole family can go on the holiday, its really good basically.
The one annoying thing is Sims 3, is that they don't have changing mats for the baby :( like those changing table things, BUT they have some great new cots and play boxes where the toddler can play in the box and with new toys and stuff. Also another main big thing is that you can see them go inside places, like if they go to the library you can SEE them go in the library and you can SEE them go to the art gallery and control them when they go out. There is a Spa on Sims 3 which is really cool, where you can get massages and beauty treatments;makes them really relaxed and a mother can do that with her daughter so its really fun for them both and helps them bond.
You can go fishing! and get really cool fish and cook with them and put them in gold fish bowls :) You can plant in the gardens and see your fruit for example apple trees and lime trees and also buy vegetable seeds and grow them too like onions and stuff like that. You have a gardening skill and fishing skill and obviously still a painting skill. But the difference in Skills in Sims 2 and 3 is that you have a LOT more skills. Like when you go on holiday you have a photography skill, and nectar making skill and you can dive in wells which gives you skills after you have explore them :)
It is really cool being able to walk outside at like 3am on Sims 3 and see stuff happening like at the park or beach and just hanging out with people :) You can't do that on Sims 2. I definitely prefer Sims 3, and I know there are a lot more expansions coming out with soon. You get more out of your game with Sims 3 as there is more you can do and you don't get bored as easily as with Sims 2 when you think you have done everything. So in my opinion, The Sims 3 is better than The Sims 2! If you wanna ask anymore questions about it, email me. Hopefully I answered your question as good as I can! :)

Need holiday gift ideas to/from 10 month old boy, as well as holiday decorating ideas for nursery?
..
our son will be 10 months old this December
(first holiday season)
he has both Christian and Jewish heritage, so we'd like to incorporate that into our celebrations
as for interests-
he loves the zoo (especially the tropical frog exhibit), music (his father plays guitar and he really seems to enjoy watching dada play), and playing outside (real nature lover, enjoys hiking with mama)
We're looking for gifts (toys, educational items, or toddler furniture) that he'll enjoy and maybe grow with.
We're also hoping to find a good gift that we can give to his aunts, uncles, grandparents on his behalf.
And if anyone has any craft type projects- we enjoy crafting and are hoping to find a cute way to decorate his nursery and playroom for the holidays (for example: we dressed his stuffed animals up in costume for Halloween). We were planning on giving him his own little tree so maybe ideas for homemade orniments that we can make for him.
Thank you for any suggestions, ideas, websites that may help us in planning our son's first holiday season-

Ok, so I know this may sound cheesey, but whenever you are giving a gift FROM a child, you can't go wrong with a nice picture frame and a picture of that child. Everyone loves a baby picture! lol
You could get construction paper and cut the strips that you turn into rings (homemade garland). You can do a countdown til Christmas and let the little guy rip a ring off each day.
You can also make garland by poping a bag of popcorn, using a needle thread to string it - you can add large wooden beads to add to it's holiday charm.
Ornaments can be made out of gingerbread. Cut out small shapes with cookie cutters and make a hole in the top where you can put a sting through.
As far as gifts go, you should definitely get him some books - but make sure they are the cardboard ones or he's just going to rip that pages out. And maybe a little light up drum or bongo, or keyboard. Something that he can express himself with.
