How can I sign up to get toys for my kids at christmas?

Amberly

I am currently unemployed, and this is my first christmas as a mom. I barely get enough for rent and bills, luckily I get WIC, but I want to get winter clothes, baby blankets and a couple toys for my 9 month old twins for christmas. anyone know of any programs or ways I can accomplish this??

Answer
omgosh hunny I know exactly how you feel. Being an unemployed mum is NEVER easy, you're always worrying about how to afford the basic things you need for your children, and Christmas is that much harder. Go to your local community centre, they will have a list of places to call for help. They will be able to help you with clothes, toys and food for your kids for Christmas.

Next year, why not try going to the dollar store each time you get paid, and buying 1 single toy ($2 or less). Put it in a box in the back of your cupboard where your kids can't reach them. Come Christmas time you'll have a nice selection of toys for your children.

Chin up love, you're not alone in this.

Giving the kids used toys for christmas?

blah

We are having really hard money problems. We have 3 kids (2 year old boy, 7 YO girl, and 11 YO boy). We will buy them all 1 new present each and a few used items. Is that a bad idea?

Answer
That's a good idea! It has a lower impact on the environment and that's great! Your kids won't even notice.
Merry Christmas!
