What are some of your favorite accents?

meee

I have an...American accent? I suppose. Uhh, it's not Southern, I live in Northern U.S.

For those of you not from the U.S. do we even have an accent? Haha.

What are your favorite accents?

Mine is Italian, and British. (When it's not the snobby-sounding British accent, which it rarely sounds snobby)

Answer
i like light french accents, the french language is most lovely.

british and australian accents are nice, some are fancy.

i have a thing for irish and scottish accents . . . lol. they are SO attractive! xd

i find chinese accents funny for some reason . . . haha. im chinese but born in america, people say i have a valley girl accent. haha.

What do you think of british accents?

For my group's IB Theory of Knowledge presentation, we are going to look at the different accents across the UK and how they affect our perceptions of people, whether they are related to class (or appear to be), how accents differ from dialects, how british accents are perceived internationally, what implications having a certain accent has etc.

Survey-

Where are you from?
How many british accents can you think of? Name them.
Where do you think your knowledge of these accents comes from?
Can you think of stereotypes of this accent?
Do you think these stereotypes are accurate?
Anything else you'd like to add?

Answer
Cambridgeshire, England, but I live in the North now.

Geordie, Liverpudlian, Brummie, Cockney, Scouse, Scottish, Northern Irish, Welsh..

By asking people; "So where are you from?"
There are so many different British accents.

I try not to apply stereotypes to accents, because I know what it feels like. Everyone where I live thinks I "talk posh" since I spent most of my childhood in Cambridge (that's where I picked up mine). "Posh" leads to "snobby", it's not a nice stereotype!

Person called "RM" - Yeah. Thanks for that. :-/
