Q. I'm visiting my niece this weekend, and she's celebrating her 2nd birthday. What toys does your toddler girl LOVE that costs less than 30 dollars?
And, just to show I'm not a bad aunt, just leaving it up to strangers to come up with ideas for me, I'm thinking maybe...
a bubble-blowing kit to make huge bubbles outside
a fun sprinkler
a very very simple computer game (she LOVES the computer, and can't stand never being able to use it)
If anyone has experience with any of those items with their toddler, or can add to my list of possible gifts, please let me know :)

Your ideas sound great. Lots of the two year old girls I know LOVE Dora the Explorer...anything and everything Dora related. Dolls, books, blankets or a pillow in the shape of favorite cartoon character. I'm not sure if you have a Target near you but they have really cute cartoon character sprinklers.
A Sit & Spin might be fun for her too. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2264694&cp=&sr=1&f=Taxonomy%2FTRUS%2F2254197&origkw=sit+and+spin&kw=sit+and+spin&parentPage=search

Best toys for a little girl? Toddler...?

My 2 1/2 year-old granddaughter loves her baby dolls and all the accessories that go with a baby from bottle, diaper bag and diapers to a baby carriage and high chair. A doll for a tiny girl is best if it is sized so that she can handle it easily. It should be floppy enough to carry easily and not heavy. There are many soft-bodied dolls with vinyl heads and limbs available that are sized properly for tiny mothers. Toddlers love to push wheeled things around, so doll strollers and prams or little shopping carts are excellent toys. A miniature baby swing is another nice "action" toy for little girls. Mattel Little People play sets are often interesting to toddlers, especially if it is one with a theme with which the child is familiar. My granddaughter loves the girly camping set and the princess castle. Her family goes camping a lot and she loves all things princess, so these are things she recognizes. Just be careful to put aside any items that a child could choke on. The pieces can be restored to the set later, when the child does not routinely pur things in her mouth. Girls like ride-on toys, too.
Remember that toddlers have a very short attention span for any concentrated activity or play, so a toy may be well-loved but appear to be played with inconsistently.
