My baby is turning 3 and we are having a small family party. We will have 8 kids here ranging from 3-8. Boys and girls and the party theme is dora. I have no Idea what kids of games to play for them.....help?!
Answer
A water balloon toss game: Fill up small water balloons, pair off kids and have them toss it back and forth. Every time they catch it, they take a step back to make the game harder. Last balloon standing wins a prize. You can do this with eggs too, but who wants to clean that up.
You can make your own pin the tail on the donkey, do a pinata, have a coloring contest, sack races, karaoke... so many fun things you can do with kids that age.

Are geeks, nerds, dorks the cool kids & adults in japan?
Jp0d
*starting off I am a geek and just curious about this for a story I am writing::
Are the comic reading, anime loving, math geniuses, D&D experts, science geniuses,,, yeah you get the type.... in middle school... high school (japan's equivalents) are they the cool kids in school? And later in Life are those who still stay strong in their geekness, nerdness, and such... how is looked upon in Japan? Is it just considered normal? are these people the Cool ones?
Really please remember I am a big geek in my late 20s so Im not trying to make a joke or anything.
Really hoping answers from people with sources they could cite OR personally saw it themselves
Sorry Caity I Definitely Didn't mean to suggest all Japanese were all geniuses just like in America. But in America often times the geeks, nerds, and such are the outcasts in schools (saw in MANY times when i was in school). The sterotypes were alive and well all through high school. So basically I am asking for the ones who Japanese consider nerds, geeks, dorks.... how are they seen in the schools? Is it any different than how Americans treat them?
And D&D is Dungeons and Dragons. LoL just another geeky america thing. Probably should have done a bit more research into this one. How does this sound: How are the smart kids treated in school? Are they not outcasts like they would be in America?
[ EDIT ]
====== FIX :: Sorry Caity I Definitely Didn't mean to suggest all Japanese were all geniuses*
and just remove the "just like in America." part
Damn suprising really... Nerds usually do the best of the rest. They usually get a nice job and will be set for life. American girls learned that one fast and will get with one just for the money.
Last Edit... But sorry usually Nerds are seen to be the smart ones. Geeks are for comic books and everything in general and such... Dorks are just those social outcasts... Nerds Definition : "stereotype of studious people with unique interests" The Person you would look towards into the MASSIVELY growing Computer industry for new recruit in the many different types of ones.... You would look mostly for NERDS.... starting salary for me was in the $80,000 JUST because i was entering a NERDY field that was growing VERY Fast and I had allll the school creds needed and more. and i got my hot wife becuase of it (sorry for the bragging)... I will always be a Geek but it was my Nerd side that be high paying job + a hot wife

"Cool" is subjective and can be different to anyone. In our school, I can hear girls saying the swimming club guys are so cool. My younger sister who is in middle school thinks guys in indie rock bands are cool. There's also some girls who think anime otaku guys are cool.
In my understanding, nerds are people who loves studying academics. Geeks are people that main interest on technology, comic books/manga, video games and anime. Dorks are the quirky, awkward and most of them are socially outcast. Atleast, that's what American media always portray about them.
There are many types of otaku (nerd/geek/dork in America) here in Japan. Otaku with severe obsession or addiction to certain things are often look down to. During my middle school, there's a male otaku who loves everything about Ancient Japan and Japanese history and he's often bullied and has no friends. I have never heard from him since we graduated middle school.
I say, forget the labels (nerd/geek/dork). People will find you cool for your interests, looks, hobbies, knowledge, skills, talents, etc.
