Q. As in toys etc., not just the most basic necessities.
My guys are turning 18 months old in a couple of weeks, and I am doing a half birthday party, and giving them a few gifts. So far I have a couple of Ikea potties to get started on intro to potty training, a Melissa and Doug latch board (they likely are a bit young for it, but love opening and closing doors so might get a kick out of it anyway), a tot sized table and chairs set from Ikea, a large roll of drawing paper and washable markers.
We already have a train table, Thomas trains, track, blocks, and tons of infant toys. Interested in toddler toys and other toddler things your kids REALLY like. Also toys etc. specific developmentally for toddlers, that I wouldn't have gotten them as infants and may not think about.
Any good ideas I don't get for their half birthday I will use for Christmas ideas. So far I just have tickle me Elmo and YMCA elmo. We don't have a private yard and our house is carpeted, so slides and the plasmacar won't really work for us.

Q. I need to pick a toy for my daughter who will be 14 months on chirstmas. I just got her a busy ball popper by playskool and she really likes that. She also just got a play kitchen like the toddler one she likes that too. The gift has to be under $30 should I ask for diapers? thats kind of boring she cant play with them I was thinking the VTech Submarine Learning Boat but any other ideas would be great

She's a bit young to really play with them now, but as she gets closer to 2, she might really enjoy some Little People, so it might be nice to get a set of those now -- maybe the farm set since the animals are fun and a good learning experience.
Books, balls, and blocks are also great at this age, and the fun grows with the child.
Another great toy for this age is the Aquadoodle. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3316091 It's a big mat that you put on the floor, and the child can draw on it with a water-filled "pen." Since it's just water, there's no mess, and the pictures just fade away after a few minutes, so it can be used again and again.
