Halo Spartan Costume?

I want to make a Mark V Spartan Costume, from halo 1. What would be best to make it out of? Paper? Cardboard? I can't do something toooo complex. Is there a tutorial for it? I just need help! Thanks! :)

The only thing I can think of is to get a Storm Trooper costume (ebay? cheaper) and spray paint it the color you want. Then get a motocross helmet (hand-me-down store?)and spray paint it. You can also get toy guns and spray paint them the way you want them to look. You might be able to find some water guns on clearance this time of year. They tend to come in cool shapes and are much bigger than toy guns.
