...it is better than the one Amazon
I was trying to find a toy for my nephews. I can pay $75.00 for one and I have an option of buying a $89.00 Compu Kidz brand computer for $70.00 off regular price ($19.00 final price) at a department store in PA. I am trying to be serious so apparently I came to the wrong website for this question. (I love Amazon and came here on their suggestion.) Does someone know the answer to this question?

I bought them for my kids online from Goodys store. Being it was right before xmas, I paid 15 .00 each for them, plus a total of 10 .00 shipping. I was very excited to pick up such a "great deal" as Goodys suggested retail price on them was 60 .00 each. As soon as I opened them I knew I was ripped off... .They are flimsy, the battery covers are plastic and barely fit on properly, the graphics are reminiscent of the game "pong"....Dont get me wrong-Pong was amazing about 30 years ago when it first came out-but the compu-kidz laptops shouldnt go for more then 10 .00 at regular price. The sound is barely understandable. My daughter had asked santa for a "pink laptop"-and I was able to get this one in pink and one in blue as well-for my son. My daughter was thrilled to see the pink laptop when she opened it and the fact that it had the "mouse" made her even more excited-as it looked just like my laptop to her... .She loves it for that reason... .my son played with his a total of 10 minutes, and put it down forever. They both have Fisher price "Pixter" games

and that is a really good system, but I had picked them up Blackj friday and paid 20 .00 each for them. Now the price is outrageous-and as good as the system is, it isnt THAT goood. I just bought them each a "leapster" game system and a number of game cartridges for their birthdays. That system is phenomenal, but it is pricey-especially if you need more then 1.

They have great games at decent prices-and you cant go wrong with anything on their site.
I also like the v-smile. Unfortunately, only the pink girls system is at rock bottom at 19 .00-I guess more boys are into the system.

In addition to the system, you would be best off purchasing the ac adaptor instead of dealing with constantly replacing batteries-and since there is more then 1 child, you would need 1 extra joystick-about 15 .00-Mine came with 1 game, I’m not sure if it still does. I noticed on amazon reviews that some people felt the system didnt hold up well. I have a 4 and 5 year old-and they have been playing with theirs for 2 years now. I cant tell you how many times it has been knocked off the tv, and fought over, pulled, pushed and mistreated-and it is still going strong.
Last but definatley not least, a close friend of mine swears by the new fisher price smart cycle. She paid 89 .95 at Aldis b4 xmas. I am sure you can find it way cheaper then what amazon is asking....

No matter what you decide, I strongly advise against the compu-kidz.. .it looks nice in the picture-but this is a case of where the looks are REALLY decieving.

My 3-year old son broke his leg two weeks ago, watched all our dvds, any ideas to keep him entertained?

He can't walk on it but scoots around on the floor okay.
Answer
Hmmm, I have a goood and cheap idea. it will keep him entertained for not 2 long, but it's interesting. It depends on the child's attention span. Get a large soda bottle. (not too big, a liter will be fine) and some rice. get some small toys that will fit in the mouth of the bottle. (keep that in mind) put rice in about 3/4 of the way and put all the toys in. (about 6 or 8 will be fine. Make sure to ake a little list of what toys you put in the dinosaur. put in a m'n'm or a little plastic dinosaur. after you wrote down the toys, close the top and shake the bottle up. everything will be all jumbled up. give the bottle to the child and explain to him it's a game of find it. if he can read, give him the list and have him roll the bottle around and shake it until he can see the item in the side of the bottle. when he does, he should check it off on the list. if he can't read, tell him what you have to look for and help him. you could bring up learning oppertunities too. tell him about dinosaurs when you find the dinosaur objest. make it fun and creative. just e-mail me if you need more ideas. Please tell him to get better. from me. My e-mail: POTCLover8@aim.com
