Answer
Logan F is correct. The quality of microscope depends on how old your kids are. You can expect to pay between $50 and $100 dollars for a reasonable children's student microscope. The instrument should come with a carrying case, slides, mounting fluid, cover slips, maybe even some biological stains. The eye-piece should be 10 X to 20X magnification. Zoom eye-piece if you can get it. The objective lens should range from 4X, 10X, 40X, and 100X. The stage, that part which holds the slide and sample being observed, should have a slide mechanical stage with X,Y position adjustment controls, or, at least two clips to firmly hold the slide to the stage. It should have a mirror for reflecting light through the stage and the sample into the objective lens for viewing through the microscope. If you can get it, battery operated light bulb on the opposite side of the mirror is very helpful. An aperture adjustment between the mirror and the underside of the stage is a very handy addition for enhanced viewing.

Again, like Logan F pointed out, all of this depends on how mature your kids are and how skillful they are at handling an instrument with delicate lens and mechanical adjustments.

One place to look for good quality used student microscope is in second hand stores. Very good quality unit can be had for reasonable price, but be sure that the instrument and lens are not damaged in any way.

Good luck.

Describe a toy that was important to you in your childhood.?

You should say:
when you got this toy

how you got this toy (or, who gave you this toy)

how often you played with it

(or: how much time you spent playing with it)

what you did with this toy *

and explain why it was important to you.

Answer
when i was about 4 or 5 .. About 71-72 I got a Hairy Hustler hot wheels car .. God know who gave it to me hell I probably stole it from another kid I dont know ..But it was the coolest racecar toy ever wedge shaped little hot rod .. I always dreamed of owning that car one day so years later ( maybe 6-7 yrs) I built a soap box derby car ( what a pile of junk ) but had the same wedge shape ... skip ahead 30 + years and now i am a mechanical engineer and I design racecars and suspension components for hot rods and build hot rods all day long .. I looked at one of those hairy hustlers on ebay the other day and they are the geekiest looking thing ever amazing how your perspective changes in about 40 years .. i still want a hairy hustler for Christmas !!! are you listening Santa ?
